Surgeon-Care LASIK means your laser surgeon performs the pre-operative evaluation,
the surgery, and all of the post-operative care.
To save money and the time of the surgeon, many laser centers have optometrists
or other “referring” doctors perform most of the pre-operative evaluation and
post-operative care. This compromise is at the expense of the patient and is
called “co-management.” Additionally, there is most often a 20% sharing of the
surgical fee with the referring doctor associated with the referral.
It makes sense that having the most experienced and most highly trained physician
(your laser vision surgeon) providing all of your care, pre- and post-operative care, would translate into better vision and fewer
complications. At Carolina Cornea and Laser Center, we believe our patients deserve
the best care we can provide – no cutting corners professionally or technically.
That means all of our patients get Surgeon-Care LASIK – no co-management, no compromises.
