Our mission is to provide our patients with the highest quality professional services in combination with state of the art technology to ensure their best vision. This means extensive continuing education for our ophthalmic technicians and Dr. Parker as well as continuing to upgrade or purchase new equipment/software for our office and laser suite.
In 2012 equipment purchases for our have included Intralase FS 150, software upgrade for Spectralis OCT with addition of anterior segment scanning, Haig Strait slit lamp upgrade to LED lighting, and new electronic medical records system with computer server replacement.
Dr. Parker is an anterior segment surgeon and cornea specialist trained by one of the leading academic ophthalmic institutions – Wills Eye Hospital. This allows us to offer iLASIK, cataract surgery with premium IOL’s, cornea transplant, as well as contact lenses and a full service optical shop. Our ophthalmic technicians are trained to assist Dr. Parker. One of our technicians is a Certified Ophthalmic Assistants (COA) and one of our technicians is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Three of the technicians are certified by Abbott to operate the Intralase and VISX lasers. Our technicians maintain their certification with continuing medical education credits obtained by attending at least one major ophthalmology meeting each year (American Academy of Ophthalmology or the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery).
Our opticians help patients chose optical frames or sunglasses that complement that patient’s face, are comfortable, and provide optimal visual benefit for the particular glasses prescription. Our opticians have been in the optical business more than 15 years and use that experience in frame selection as well as frame adjustment. They also assist in contact lens ordering and contact lens instruction. Our number one priority is patient satisfaction and helping each patient achieve his or her best vision.
For the patient, the initial interaction with a medical practice is the front office. During office hours, our three administrative assistants answer your phone calls personally – you talk to a person not a machine. Our staff takes great pride in helping patients make appointments, answering questions, and filing patient insurance claims efficiently. Their experience and professionalism is self evident and their smiling faces can even be seen over the phone!
